Hebelgymnasium
The aim of the Soli-AG project is to establish practical social work in the sense of solidarity, sustainability and ecology at schools in such a way that a separate field of learning and experience for young people in and outside of the curriculum is created. The focus is particularly on personality and social aspects: beyond theory, memorization and abstractly distant reference to the world, experiences of meaningful self-efficacy and thus sustainable personality development should be enabled.
The direct experience of mindfulness and compassion should help to experience intra- and inter-individual coherence. The young people learn to reflect on themselves and to come into even more contact with themselves through this. The object of the Soli-AG is the organization and implementation of solidarity projects.
Participation in the AG is voluntary. The AG is offered for the upper level. The participating students are responsible for the content and form of the solidarity projects. The Soli-AG model has existed for 12 years at the Hebel Gymnasium Schwetzingen.
Previous projects could be implemented in the following areas:
- Integration of refugees
- Support for the elderly and the sick
- Environmental campaign (collecting rubbish, planting trees, etc.)
- Collection for chalkboard
In the project we want to supplement the concept of the Soli-AG with content from the areas of compassion and mindfulness. The management of the Soli-AG should receive inspiration and support from the Institute for Compassion (IfC).
